Two years ago, I was working for a small accounting firm during the tax season. I had baby number three on the way and my husband was transitioning from management to full-time farming with his family. It was a time in our lives where a lot of change was on the way and our finances especially would not be reliably coming in. If you know anything about farming, you don’t get paid weekly or even bi-weekly for that matter. Like many other families out there we were wrestling with the decision for me to stay-at-home with my three boys. I did not want to work just to pay for the outrageous costs of putting three boys in daycare, so we decided that I would stay at home with our three boys.

Being a stay-at-home mom and/or dad is the best and the most demanding job I think one can have. I am amazed at the generosity and support I have received from others building their own business, but more importantly I am also amazed with the lives that I have been able to touch and the lifelong friends I have made.
